Terms & Conditions

DEPOSIT

In order to reserve an appointment for clients scheduling baths or full grooming appointments, a non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the estimated groom fee must be paid. Upon completion of the groom, the deposit amount will be deducted from the final total. If you absolutely need to reschedule, deposits are transferrable for a maximum of two appointments; however, you must notify us of any changes to your original appointment at least 48 hours in advance. There are no exceptions for cancellations and the deposit is non-refundable. This rule aims to discourage late cancellations and ensure only serious reservations are made. Late cancellations of appointments cost the business a lot of money and take up important time slots that other clients need to reserve for their dogs. Therefore deposits will be forfeited.

COSTS & PAYMENTS POLICY

The price of services varies according to the breed, size, type of coat, condition of the coat, temperament, and/or special handling requirements of each individual pet. Any grooming costs that have been pre-quoted are estimates only; they become final once the groom is finished. At the time the pet is picked up after the grooming is finished, payment for all services must be made in full.

DE-MATTING POLICY

More time and care must be given to pets whose coats are extremely matted. Tight matts in a pet’s coat can eventually cause tearing and damage to the skin, which can result in a number of health problems, including but not limited to; infections, scabs and sores, foxtails or burrs embedded in the skin and ears, cuts and abraisions. In addition to trapping moisture close to the dog’s skin, heavy matting can also encourage the growth of mold, fungus, or bacteria, which can irritate the skin before it is groomed, this can in turn lead to nicks, cuts, or abrasions when removing a heavily matted coat.

I will not brush out excessively pelted or matted coats for the sake of vanity. In order to spare your pet from severe or unnecessary stress, the pet may need to be shaved due to extreme matting; however, I will try my hardest to preserve as much coat where possible. Removing matts from the pet in a humane manner requires shaving the coat all the way down to the skin.

Itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to regrow are possible consequences of matt removal procedures. After grooming, pets typically chew and scratch themselves because the skin feels different and can breathe.

You understand that you accept the procedure and any associated risk if your pet needs to be shaved in order to remove matting. Removal of matted coats will be an added cost to the groom as it takes more time to carefully remove and blunts equipment more quickly. The owner is responsible for the condition of the pet’s coat and skin and fully responsible for any adverse effects on the pet due to the removal of matts PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS Any injuries or pre-existing conditions that might worsen while being groomed are not something I will be responsible for. Whilst I make every effort to handle, move, and restrain your pet in a safe and comfortable manner while it is being groomed, owners are in responsible for disclosing to me any pre-existing conditions and any known or suspected injuries their pet may have for example; problems with the neck or back; orthopedic problems like arthritis; prior surgeries; seizures; problems with the heart or breathing; skin problems, etc.

FLEAS & VACCINATIONS

When bringing your pet into the salon for grooming, they have to be completely flea-free and on flea prevention. If fleas are found on your pet there will be an additional charge to the groom to cover the extra costs of de-contaminating the salon. I reserve the right to refuse the groom, send your pet home and charge the full price of the groom if your pet is heavily flea infested. This is to minimise the risk of fleas transferring to other people’s pets. I advise that all animals brought into the salon are upto date with their vaccinations. Vaccinations for dogs include canine distemper, canine adenovirus, canine parvovirus, leptospirosis and kennel cough.Vaccinations for cats include Feline enteritis, cat flu, herpes virus, feline leukaemia, chlamydia. Vaccinations for rabbits include myxomatosis and the two strains of rabbit viral haemorrhagic disease (please check with your veterinarian if you are unsure if your pet is upto date) SENIOR & YOUNG PETS

Sometimes, grooming procedures can be stressful, particularly for older, sicker or younger pets. For those pets, I will take extra precautions and be patient; however, I won’t be held accountable for any reactions brought on by the procedures’ physical or psychological strain. Grooming older & younger pets will focus on comfort and hygiene, with no emphasis on stressful styles. It is my perogative to adjust or stop the haircut if, in my opinion, brushing or trimming the pet will put them under too much stress.

ACCIDENTS & INJURIES

The comfort and safety of your pet come first. When working with animals, there is always a risk, even though accidents are extremely rare. I always handle things with the utmost care and use extreme caution, but because grooming tools are sharp, accidents like cuts, nicks and scratches can happen. This typically happens when the dog is wriggling, pacing, or struggling with the grooming process. Should an accident happen, you will be informed of the incident. If I think it’s necessary and I cannot make contact with the owner, I’ll seek immediate veterinary care, which may include taking them to the nearest veterinary clinic.

REFUSAL OF SERVICES

Any prior aggressive behavior displayed by your pet must be disclosed. When performing grooming services, restraints like muzzles may be used to protect the groomer. If your pets behavior jeopardizes their or my own safety, I will not continue working or may skip stressful procedures of the groom. I am able to decline services at any moment. I reserve the right to refuse, cease, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming if your pet becomes too aggravated or dangerous to handle. The client will be charged for the full cost of their appointment should I have to stop during the groom.

CANCELLATIONS

Failure to provide more than 48 hours notice for cancellations or failure to show up to your appointment will result in your deposit being forfeited and a cancellation/no-show fee to be paid in advance before another appointment may be scheduled. The cancellation/no-show fee amount will be 100% of the estimated total groom fee for your dog. In the case of a no-show, in addition to the 100% fee, a deposit will be required to schedule another appointment.
